In the Shona language of Zimbabwe ‘Chengeta’ means to ‘take care of’ or to ‘ look after’ and this name reflects the soul of this lodge. Situated at the foot of a granite kopje amidst indigenous trees and a tropical landscaped garden with wildlife roaming through the gardens, guests can enjoy a memorable and restful stay with us. This beautiful well established 16 roomed hideaway is found in the midst of a 7,500 acre wildlife paradise with large concentrations of plains game as well as Buffalo, Lion and domesticated Elephant.
The lodge has a two-tiered thatched dining room overlooking the gardens and two swimming pools, and a pool bar that is open from 9am until dinner finishes. Thereafter, most guests retire to the trophy lounge area and main bar. There is a lapa fire pit area for that social "round the fireside" chat about the day’s events as well as a separate TV lounge with full DSTV selection.

Pamuzinda is a distinctive world class safari lodge situated on the banks of the Serui River, in the heart of a large private game park, soon to increase in size to 13,000 acres of wildlife habitat. The combined wildlife area of both Pamuzinda and Chengeta should reach 20,000 acres by 2013. The lodge is located a short drive (12km) from her sister lodge Chengeta, and only just over an hour from Harare. Currently there are 13 individual lodges plus the Royal Lodge Complex, with an additional 5 tented River lodges on their way. Most lodges are located along the river and its confluence with the water almost to your balcony. Besides the Royal Suite ,7 of the lodges have stunning private “garden rooms” Every garden room is individually designed and boasts an outdoor shower , private furnished patio & ‘under star’ day or night beds (the lodge will make these beds up for you with full mosquito nets if required). The view from within each garden room has been specifically designed to give you a stunning view over the river and into the bush yet still maintaining your utmost privacy. Pamuzinda carries a unique character and charm like no other lodge in Zimbabwe. Originally purpose built in the mid 80s as the flag ship for the Cresta International Hotel Chain, the main lodge of this ‘Queen of its era’ burnt down in 2010.This inadvertently allowed the current owners to create something truly special to the tastes and expectations of a modern era yet still maintaining its colonial style. The Royal Lodge at Pamuzinda has everything any travelling dignitary or international globetrotter would expect, including its own swimming pool, jacuzzi, under star day beds and showers, fire pit and braai areas and full personal butler service.
Shumba Guest Lodge, bordering Pamuzinda game park is the original owner of Strathmore Estate’s (Pamuzinda Game park) private thatched homestead which has been converted to a small and homely guest lodge. The complex comprises of 2 thatched houses with a total of 5 ensuite bedrooms and 4 non ensuite.
Shumba Guest Lodge has a
large pool with children’s paddling area, a bar boma area and 5
separate brai areas. It offers full catering, dinner bed and
Breakfast & bed and breakfast, it also acts as wedding /
conference overflow facility to the main lodges. Besides this we
have a self catering option within Little Shumba that has five
bedrooms 3 being ensuite which is ideal for groups or larger family
gatherings.

a group or families looking for a self catering option in the bush
with the ability to take part in any of the activities on offer at
her 2 sister Safari lodges and varied game parks Pamuzinda and
Chengeta .

with 3 bedrooms ensuite (one double) and 2 non ensuite twin bedded
rooms, a lounge / breakfast/dining room with DSTV and a separate
toilet and further separate toilet, bath and shower. Private
gardens and braai area with full use of the main bar, pool area and
dining facilities at Big Shumba across the lawns.

Big Shumba has a large double
bedded bedroom with adjacent smaller twin bedded bedroom and
ensuite bathroom. Two x 2 twin bedded bedroom’s separate toilet and
further toilet bath and shower, a main dining area, a bar and TV
/relaxing lounge with 5 Indian daybeds for additional sleeping
arrangements if required by block bookings. A small twin bedded
ensuite cottage abuts Big Shumba.
